STAINED GLASS

In this laboratory we realize modern, creative and innovative artistic glasswork.
Accurate restoration of old artistic storied glass windows are made on request, following the old traditional European precepts.
Any single piece of glass is chosen from a vast amount of glass sheets. Old, coloured, blown, plated and iridescent ones are available.
Then are painted with grisaille and colouring-matters, mixed with traditional binder to obtain competent, skilfully made figures and light-and-shade gradations. The painted glass is cooked in a special oven reaching 620 degrees to permanently fix the painted figures.
Lead-tying and tin-welding adds rigidity to the panels that gets further treatment to increase weather resistance.
Some of the panels are paired with an other glass facing the weather- exposed side.
AFVDA takes care of the packing, transportation and installation of its work.
